Registration rules allow you to automatically register users who meet the criteria of the rule on to an module, for example, users who sit in a specific department or based on when users employment started.
This guide details creating a unique rule to be applied to a single module or course. You can also register individual users to training or use Template Hub to create and apply a rule template for multiple pieces of training content.

Note: If using Genesis 1.0, you'll need to switch to Admin View to follow the instructions.
Find the relevant module in Find Learning or Content Manager, then go to the administration area.
Select the the Users and Rules tab, then click Add Rule.
Select the Create a Unique Rule tile.
Click Next, then select your required filters, detailed in the table below.Filter by unitsChoose the audience from organisation hierarchy.
To register whole organisation, select the top-level organisation.
To only register specific organisation units, select individually (after first removing top-level organisation).
Select an Organisation Unit containing other units within gives the option to include the Child Units (the units below it in the hierarchy).
Select Exclude to remove specific units from selection.
Filter by categoriesSelect one or more categories that must apply to rule. For example, job role, qualification or location. Filter by rolesSelect users based on system role. For example, line manager or administrator.

Will only register users who meet all criteria. If a user only meets some of the criteria, they will not be registered.
Click Next then select when to register the users.
Select to run the rule until a specified end date or continue indefinitely.
Enter a Due Date as required, or set up a date relative to when user was registered.
Note: This will then enable the Reporting Grace Period option which can be ticked to apply. This exempts registered users from reporting until they have completed the module or the due date passes.
Choose how to manage registration resets and whether to include previously canceled users.
Click Finish.
Note: Forms operate in a different manner to modules and you can't reset them. You need to either restart the form in a user's profile under the Performance/Forms tab or create a new form module from the template before registering your users to the new Form module.
