To change a users two-factor authentication (2FA) device, you need to use the back-up code that you create when you first set up 2FA.

When you log in, enter the back-up code then enter the new device that you want to assign 2FA to.

Note: Only owners of a verified domain can follow the steps below.

If you know your back-up code

  1. Go to https://identity.accessacloud.com and click Use back-up code.

  2. Once you're signed in, click Two-Factor Authentication.

  3. If you use a mobile phone for 2FA, click the X next to Text message.

  4. Alternatively, if you use an authenticator app, click Disable authenticator app.

If you don't know your back-up code or it doesn't work

If you're unable to use a back-up code to log in, an organisation administrator needs to verify the user's domain.

Once the domain is verified, anyone listed as an owner of the verified domain can follow the steps below.

  1. Click Two-Factor Authentication then click Disable two-factor authentication for someone else.

  2. Enter the relevant user's email address.
