What are Artifacts?

Artifacts are visual outputs that Copilot creates to help you work with information more effectively. Instead of just reading text responses, you can see your data and documents displayed in clear, interactive formats.

What appears in the Artifacts panel?

When you're working with Copilot, the Artifacts panel on the right side of your screen can display:

Uploaded documents

When you upload a PDF, it appears here so you can see exactly where Copilot is pulling information from. No more switching between windows to check the source.

Charts and graphs

Copilot can create visual representations of your data, including:

  • Bar charts – perfect for comparing values across categories

  • Line charts – ideal for showing trends over time

Simply ask Copilot to visualise your data in natural language. For example:

  • "Can you create a bar chart showing sales by region?"

  • "Show me a line graph of our performance over the last quarter"

  • "Visualise the monthly trends as a line chart"

Tables

When you need to see data in a structured format, Copilot can organise information into clear, easy-to-read tables.

Working with Artifacts

Viewing your artifacts

Artifacts appear automatically in the panel when Copilot creates them. You can reference them whilst continuing your conversation with Copilot.

Refining your artifacts

Not quite what you need? Simply ask Copilot to adjust it:

  • "Can you change that to a line chart instead?"

  • "Show me just the last six months"

  • "Can you break that down by region?"

Why this is helpful

Artifacts make it easier to:

  • Verify information by seeing the source document alongside Copilot's response

  • Understand data patterns through visual representations

  • Work more efficiently by keeping everything in one place
