Global Search User Guide

A guide to how Global Search provides a unified way to find information across Access products from a single search box in the Evo header.

What is Global Search?

Global Search lets you find anything across Access products from one search box at the top of your screen. No more jumping between different areas - search once, find everything!

  • Results automatically tailored to your access level

  • Get help from Copilot when needed


Getting Started

  1. Log in to Access Evo with your usual credentials

  2. Look for the search box in the header at the top of your screen

  3. Click and type - it's that simple!

The search box stays visible wherever you are in Access Evo, so you can search anytime.


How to Use Global Search

Basic Search

Simply click the search box and start typing. Results appear automatically after just 1-2 characters.

Tip: Results are organised by product (alphabetically), showing how many matches each has.

Quick Actions

Click the search box without typing to see shortcuts like:

  • Open Products

  • Ask Copilot

  • Open Members

Recent Items

Your previously accessed items appear when you click the search box, making it easy to return to things you've viewed before.

Filter Your Search

Click the "All" dropdown next to the search box to narrow results to a specific product.

Clear Your Search

Click the X button in the search box to start fresh.


What You Can Search For

The products you can search depend on your permissions, but may include:

  • Products - Any Access product from the Access Button

  • Members - Colleagues and organisation members

  • Spaces & MyEvo pages - Dashboards and personal pages

  • Settings - Both personal (My Settings) and organisation settings

  • Collaborate - Sites and tasks within Collaborate

Remember: You'll only see results from products you have access to.


Using Copilot with Search

Can't find what you need? Copilot can help!

At the bottom of any search results, you'll see a Copilot card. Click it to:

  • Ask questions about your search

  • Get help understanding results

  • Find alternative ways to locate information

  • Have a conversation about what you're looking for

Keyboard Shortcuts

Navigate without a mouse:

  • Tab - Move to search box

  • Arrow keys - Navigate results

  • Enter - Open selected result

  • Esc - Close search dropdown


F.A.Q.s

Why don't I see certain products in my search?

You only see products you have permission to access. Contact your Organisation Admin if you think something's missing.

Can I search using questions?

Global Search works best with keywords (names, product names, etc.). For questions, click the Copilot card to get conversational help.

Are my searches private?

Recent searches are stored only in your browser for quick access. They're not shared with others or across devices.

Will more products become searchable?

Yes! As more Access products integrate with Global Search, they'll automatically appear in your results (if you have access).


Need Help?

Quick fixes to try:

  • Check your internet connection

  • Clear browser cache

  • Refresh your browser

  • Set browser zoom to 100%

Be specific - Use exact names or terms for best results ✓ Use filters - Narrow down to a specific product when needed ✓ Try Copilot - Great for questions or when you can't find something ✓ Check recent items - Often faster than searching again
