Connectors link your Evo Builder application to Access products and external services available in your Evo environment. They allow your application to pull in real data and take actions without any integration work on your part.
For example, a connector might allow your application to surface tasks from Evo Tasks, display learning content, or read from and write to a data source your organisation already uses.
How connectors are added
During guided setup
If you create a project using guided setup, the final step of the wizard is Connect. At this point, Evo Builder searches your Evo environment and recommends connectors based on your earlier answers about the application's intent, audience, and purpose.
From this step you can:
Accept the recommended connectors.
Remove any connectors you do not need.
Add additional connectors from the catalogue before the project is created.
After your project is created
You can manage connectors at any time from the Connectors tab in the right-hand panel of your project. Changes take effect the next time the application is built.
Managing connectors
From the Connectors tab you can:
Action | What it does |
Add a connector | Connects your application to an additional Access product or external service from your environment. |
Remove a connector | Removes the connection from the project entirely. |
Disable a connector | Pauses the connection without removing it. Useful when troubleshooting an issue. |
What connectors are available
The connectors available to you are drawn from your Evo environment. There are two types:
Access products First-party Access products available in your environment, such as Evo Tasks, learning platforms, and other Access software your organisation uses.
External services Approved third-party services that Evo Builder can connect to on your behalf, as configured for your organisation.
đ Note: The specific connectors shown depend on what your Evo environment provides. If a connector you need is not listed, contact your organisation's Evo Builder administrator.
Connectors and data access
Connectors operate within the same access controls as the products they connect to. A user of your application can only see data they already have permission to access in the source product. Connectors do not change or bypass any existing security or permission settings.
Connectors and Quick create projects
If you created your project using Quick create rather than guided setup, no connectors are added automatically. You can add them at any time from the Connectors tab in the right-hand panel.
