Be specific and direct in your prompts. Vague or verbose prompts use more tokens and can produce less focused responses.
Ask one task per message where possible, and bundle what you can ask upfront rather than sending follow-ups.
Avoid re-uploading files that are already in the project. If a file was uploaded earlier, the AI already has access to it.
Prefer smaller, focused files. Save lengthy PowerPoint or Word documents as PDFs before uploading - same accuracy, fewer tokens.
For large volumes of files (for example, 600 or more images), use a connector such as SharePoint rather than uploading directly.
Request Markdown first. HTML is more expensive in tokens - only generate HTML where it is actually needed.
Ask for updates to an existing artifact rather than generating a new one each time.
